Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Jordan Carpenter for Methamphetamine

On September 12, 2026, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a truck traveling on Highway 79.

During the traffic stop, an HCSO K9 was utilized to conduct a free-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Based on the alert, deputies conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle.

During the search, deputies located a backpack containing drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The female passenger, Jordan Carpenter, stated that the backpack belonged to her and claimed the contents inside it.

Carpenter was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail.

Later, jail personnel contacted HCSO deputies and reported that additional methamphetamine had been located after Carpenter arrived at the jail. Deputies conducted interviews with Carpenter and other witnesses as part of the investigation.

During the investigation, Carpenter admitted to concealing methamphetamine on her person and bringing it into the jail.

Carpenter was subsequently charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office continues to work with our jail staff and deputies to prevent illegal narcotics and other contraband from entering the Holmes County Jail.
