Lloyd Neal Powell, 86, of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2026.
Lloyd was born on December 20, 1939, in Springfield, Florida, to Alton Powell and Bessie Ammons. He was a lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle and worked many years as the Washington County Building Inspector. Lloyd enjoyed spending his time outdoors, especially fishing.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Lloyd will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Alton and Bessie Powell; daughter: Donna Walker; brother: Dalton Powell; grandchild: Matthew.
He is survived by his loving wife: Julie Merle Morris of Chipley, FL; daughters: Terri Powell Wickersham of Goodwater, AL, Lynn Powell Riner (Jerry) of Senoia, GA, April Powell Martinez of Chipley, FL; grandchildren: Cathy, Bo, Jessica, Wes, Zach, Jacob, Elijah, Cory, Aura, Julia; numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road) in Chipley, Florida, with Bro. James Guy officiating. Interment will follow at Gap Pond Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation thirty minutes prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel.
